As the world around us gets busier, more hectic and our work/life balance is becoming unbalanced, sometimes we need someone to turn to that we know and trust. Friday February 9 2018
The mediation process is ongoing. Remember that every single one of our demands remains on the table and we are working hard to show Canada Post why our demands are so important to all of us. We must all continue to remind Canada Post that we want improved working conditions, wages, benefits, proper staffing, increased and improved services for the public and a greener Canada Post.
Friday January 26 2018

Media Release - OTTAWA – Door-to-door protected for millions, but fight to restore the cuts carries on. This morning, after a year of review and another year of delays, the federal government finally made public its vision for a renewed Canada Post. Some four million households can now rest easy that their door-to-door service will not be cut, but more than 800,000 are still out in the cold.

Support Postal Banking - Download and Sign the Petition

Canada needs a postal bank. Thousands of rural towns and villages in our country do not have a bank, but many of them have a post office that could provide financial services. As well, nearly two million Canadians desperately need an alternative to payday lenders. A postal bank could be that alternative. Download and sign the petition urging the Government of Canada to instruct Canada Post to add postal banking, with a mandate for financial inclusion.

CUPW calls upon its members and society more broadly, to be awakened to the abominable effects of colonization on Indigenous peoples on whose land we live, work and learn. We’re almost halfway through 2022, but it has already been another busy year for CUPW, with no signs of stopping. While our provinces and cities lift COVID restrictions and the world begins to reopen, the pandemic continues to cause uncertainty and we must continue to respect each other. We’ll soon be able to meet in person as the National Executive Board just lifted the travel ban, but let’s be mindful that we’ve all experienced the pandemic differently and have different comfort levels with the removal of restrictions.

CUPW launched its postal banking campaign with a giant inflatable piggy bank in downtown Ottawa.
