Dear Comrades and Cousins,

Please find below a friendly challenge to all Prairie Region Locals and beyond. As you know, life is not about competition, life is about inspiring and lifting up others. In that light, here is a brief synopsis of the Edmonton Local’s friendly challenge to all:

At a March General Membership Meeting, the Edmonton Local passed a motion to make a $1,000 donation to the Amazon Labor Union (ALU). Along with this donation, we are also issuing a challenge to every other CUPW Local and our National Office to match our donation. Despite the major victory of the ALU winning its certification vote earlier this year, they are currently relying on donations while they work to secure their first contract.

There is a long tradition of unions supporting each other, and as postal workers we need to only look back to the outpouring of support we received in 2018 – not only with community and union members continuing our pickets after we were legislated back to work, but with all financial support other unions offered us.

Let's show some support for the ALU while they fight to get better pay, better working conditions, and better benefits for our fellow workers at Amazon.
