Sayyid Ali Khamenei

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On behalf of 52,000 members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, I am writing to demand the immediate release of Ebrahim Madadi and Davoud Razani.  These two members of the board of directors of the Vahed Syndicate were arrested on April 29, 2015 and have been detained without trial since then. We know that they have been both transferred from the security section of Evin Prison’s ward 209 to the general ward within the same prison in the afternoon of Monday, May 18, 2015; nevertheless, they’re still in a state of uncertainty.

It is not the first time that members of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company have been the target of harassment and have been incarcerated.  Since many years they have been the target of unjust arrests because they are fighting for good wages and fair representation, as well as against hazardous working conditions.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers adds its voice to the thousands around the world calling for the immediate release of Ebrahim Madadi and Davoud Razani and all political prisoners in Iran. We demand their immediate and unconditional release.

Sincerely,

Mike Palecek
National President (2015-2019)
