We have been notified that a security breach took place with one of their IT service providers, CompuCom. Based on their review of the exposed data, CPC believes that there is no evidence that any financial or sensitive personal information was part of the breach.
Canada Post says that based on their investigation, the breach exposed non-sensitive personal information such as employee ID, names, gender and work location. Personal email addresses and/or phone numbers were exposed for an isolated group of employees. While CPC considers this information to be “non-sensitive personal information”, they are assessing the potential impact this may have on those employees and will communicate directly to them any safety measures they may need to take as this information could be utilised for scams.
You may receive or have already received a letter from CPC’s Chief People and Safety Officer, Susan Margles.
CUPW will be following up with CPC to ensure that the required measures are taken according to the applicable legislation for those who were the victim of the breach and to ensure that proper measures are taken going forward to protect your personal information. We will advise you if further action is required.
In Solidarity,
