Hello to all the workers in the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, 

On behalf of the Acadia University Faculty Association (AUFA), and our Executive, we want to extend our solidarity to all 55,000+ workers on this the 26th day of struggle for a just contract.

In the hopes of both extending support and increasing our own level of education, we would be honoured to host an event – either virtually or in-person – where a representative from CUPW-STTP could speak to our membership about the strike and the progressive, socially-sound, and environmentally responsible Delivering Community Power campaign.

Your efforts, be they on the line or laid-out in the Delivering Community Power project, aim to make our communities (and country) stronger through its people and planet centred approach. There is much our membership, as workers also within a public institution, could learn from CUPW-STTP while supporting you during this challenging time.

Acknowledging this must be an incredibly difficult period for you all, we are happy to work around whatever schedule is best for your members. We also understand if this is not possible at this time. 

If it is, AUFA recognizes the value of hosting such an event at Acadia. It would surely help our leadership and broader membership learn how other organized workers (in the public sector) not only think beyond their immediate workplace but recognize that their labour and work impacts the lives, communities, and environments of countless others.
