2015-2019/163

The federal government appointed an independent task force earlier this year to identify options for the future of Canada Post. It said that everything but postal privatization would be on the table.

This fall, a parliamentary committee will be consulting with Canadians on postal service and the options identified by the task force (Note: taskforce report due in September). It will make recommendations to the government by year’s end.

E-Consultations – September 26 to October 21

You can have your say on the future of our public postal service by filling out the parliamentary committee’s online survey from September 26 to October 21, 2016 at: http://www.parl.gc.ca/Committees/en/OGGO

During this time, paper surveys will be available upon request by phoning 613-995-9469 or writing to Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates, Sixth Floor, 131 Queen Street, House of Commons, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0A6

What to say?

When the time comes, please make sure to insert your key issues into the survey:

  • Getting your home mail delivery back?
  • Keeping your public post office?
  • Greening the post office?
  • Creating services that support seniors and people with disabilities?
  • Bringing back our postal bank for more inclusive, accessible financial services for everyone?
