Today, the RSMC Negotiating Committee met with Canada Post to respond to the Corporation’s September 25 global offer.

Since the start of Negotiations, the Employer has told us that it does not want to change the company on the backs of its employees. But after reviewing the Corporation’s offer, we are not satisfied the Employer has lived up to its word.

The Negotiators made it clear: We will not accept changes that we have fought so hard to achieve since 2004. Together, we have come too far to accept falling behind. We will accept nothing less than what we deserve!

Highlights of Our Global Offer:

  • Job Security rights in line with the Urban collective agreement
  • Wage increases of 12.65% in Year 1 and 4.5% in Year 2, with further discussions on the length of the agreement and subsequent wage increases

  • An Hourly Rate system that meets the needs of all RSMCs
  • Maximize 8-hour routes
  • Pensionable hours for every hour paid at straight time for regular employees
