The upcoming federal election will be a pivotal one for postal workers. The outcome could directly affect our work and our postal service, especially the future of home mail delivery.
It will also be an important election for the labour movement. The Conservatives have repeatedly sided with employers and imposed back-to-work legislation on federal sector workers, including postal workers. They have also attempted to undermine unions with bills such as Bill C-525 (makes it easier to decertify) and Bill C-377 (imposes costly and unnecessary scrutiny of union finances).
If you've had enough of the Conservative attack on workers and postal service, please consider participating in the upcoming skills conferences being organized by the Canadian Labour Congress in the following locations:
Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Kitchener, Halifax and London have already had conferences.
The conferences are free. You can register on-line by going to www. canadianlabour .ca.
Go to the third image in rotation at the top of the page: Working together: Election Preparation Conference (After the image on 'Justice for Canada's missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls', and after the popsicle ad).
Once you fmd "Working together: Election Preparation Conference", click on 'read more' and then on the conference you are interested in. There are details on how to register.
In solidarity,
