Workers of Maintair Aviation working at Thunder Bay International Airport have unanimously voted to ratify the tentative agreement presented to them.

These workers became members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) in November 2023, and their bargaining committee has been negotiating their first collective agreement for many months.

Highlights of the Agreement

  1. Three-year term – the agreement expires December 31, 2026.
  2. Benefits – 50/50 (previously, workers had no benefits).
  3. RSP volunteer contributions (previously, no retirement savings).
  4. Grievance Procedure/Union Representation.
  5. Lay off and Recall language.
  6. Paid uniforms (previously, had to pay for their own uniforms).
  7. Safety shoes – annual increase of $125 every October.
  8. Wage scale with annual increase every April.
  9. Shift premium language (previously, there was no shift premium).

Maintair workers will now become members of the Thunder Bay Local 620.
