The National Executive Board has selected François Senneville as Lead Negotiator of the RSMC Negotiating Committee. It’s time to call for applications from members who are interested in serving on the Negotiating Committees for our two biggest bargaining units – Urban Postal Operations (UPO) and Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers (RSMC).

This year, some regions have already experienced heatwaves very early in the spring. Some northern regions have also experienced heat waves lasting several days, which is rather unusual. Wildfires and air quality have been on the news across the country since early spring and will be until the end of Summer, according to experts in the field.

CUPW is the only union in North America to have bargained a Fund to support its members with their child care needs. It all began in the early 1980s when women postal workers demanded that their Union do something about their need for child care. In response CUPW began to raise the issue with Canada Post and in 1991 bargained the CUPW Child Care Fund (Fund).

Our Cost of Living Allowance will pay out once again, as it has several times during the renewal agreements, to help members deal with inflation. Please note, the information below is subject to change should we win our National Grievance (N00-22-R0005). In dispute is the date of the base month for the calculations of COLA amounts owed. Canada Post Corporation has confirmed that it will pay the COLA payments as below, calculated in accordance with their position on the base month.
