Summer is here, the season of Pride in communities all over!

CUPW stands in solidarity with Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transsexual-Transgender-Queer struggles for human rights. Pride events began as an expression of the fight for dignity and equality — a refusal to be silenced. These struggles are not over – as we are reminded every day in the news. We've seen progress toward equity in the past year, but there is much yet to accomplish.

We're proud of our LGBTQ sisters and brothers. CUPW has been visible, and audible, at Pride marches and festivals for years - let's keep it up in 2015. Here are a few of the Pride events and dates across the land:

This is also another opportunity to intensify connections with all of our allies. Together we'll remove the Harper government in the 2015 federal election and improve conditions for all equity-seeking groups and workers.

Please help distribute our LGBT working group's "Together we make it better" video – CUPW's contribution to the "#itgetsbetter" project. You can simply retweet it from the @cupw twitter feed, or share it from https://youtu.be/EopKVRokGUs

In solidarity,

Dave Bleakney
2nd National Vice-President (2015-2023)
