    From the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Asian people have been unfairly vilified and scapegoated as responsible for the virus and its spread. This has led to an increase in anti-Asian racism, around the world, including in our country.

    The global pandemic is now more than a year old, and we still have no certainty on how and when it will end. We have yet to see exactly where postal workers will stand in the line for vaccinations, and we must continue to take appropriate precautions for at least several more months.

    The National Committee on RSMC Work Content and Workload has been meeting since January 2020. Recently, one of the members left the Committee to become the newly elected Regional Education and Organizing Officer in her region. We need a full contingent of three (3) union representatives on this committee to continue the work. Its mandate will be to determine and assess the RSMC work content and workload, allowing both parties to have informed discussions on future pay arrangements.

    Support Postal Banking - Download and Sign the Petition

    Canada needs a postal bank. Thousands of rural towns and villages in our country do not have a bank, but many of them have a post office that could provide financial services. As well, nearly two million Canadians desperately need an alternative to payday lenders. A postal bank could be that alternative. Download and sign the petition urging the Government of Canada to instruct Canada Post to add postal banking, with a mandate for financial inclusion.
